It's February!

Yes, it is now the month of roses, flowers, red, hearts, valentine's. Oh so much fun for singles. I'm never actually been dating someone on Valentine's or my birthday. And that bites. And it's looking like this year won't be any different from the previous 30. Oh well. I'm not depressed or desperate. I just hate seeing hearts everywhere. Where's cupid when you need him?

In other news...Mom is doing better. Work is going well. I still miss the Tuckers. I'm planning my next vacation with my best friend, fellow single, and travel buddy Elissa and her parents. Looks like we are headed to Washington, DC in April. Should be educational, fun, and photorific with the cherry blossoms in bloom hopefully.

Oh, and I got my new dryer on Thursday! Yeah - clean, dry clothes and wrinkle-releaser!

I think I've about self-helped myself to death. I've read:
For Women Only by Shaunti Feldman (highly recommend - especially for the gals in my supper club and other singles). The companion book for guys, For Men Only (duh!), is pretty interesting for women to read too. But hopefully, men will get more out of it, if they actually read it all.
Falling in Love for All the Right Reasons by Neil Clark Warren, otherwise known as the eHarmony guru (pretty good, lots of examples).
Venus and Mars on a Date by John Gray (I found a few paragraphs that he MUST have written about me! Plus other nice tidbits, examples, and various interesting notes. Not that agree with everything he said but it was still quite enlightening)
He's Just Not That Into You by those two "sex and the city" writers (witty, amusing, and all about the signs that say he's just that not into you. Not that that is usually a problem with me - it's usually the other way around according to SOME folks - but it's nice to know when I can just let it go and not worry about why he didn't call).

So, hope you have a good week-end. Go Colts!

Hmmm. I didn't know you actually rooted for any professional football teams. It must've worked! Love, Laura
