Movies & Update

I rented a couple of movies over the week-end - two that I had not seen. The updated version of "Yours, Mine, & Ours" with Dennis Quaid and Rene Russo and "Beauty Shop" with Queen Latifah. I just loved "Beauty Shop." It was so funny and a real chick movie. "YM&O" was pretty good too - they changed up several things from the original with Lucille Ball and Henry Fonda. I have to say, Dennis Quaid is still pretty irresistable with those eyes and smile! Both were fun movies to watch!

In yesterday's post, I failed to mention as part of my "self help" that I'm attending Noel Whitlock's class on Wednesday nights. He is using the series by Tommy Nelson on the Song of Solomon. Very interesting study on relationships. We watch a video for about 25 minutes or so (Tommy speaking to a large group) and then have discussion. If you haven't been, you might check it out. It's very frank, honest, and enlightening.

I also mentioned John Gray's book, "Mars & Venus on a Date." I checked it out at the library and will be returning it tomorrow (if you are interested in checking it out). The paragraphs I mentioned that sounded like me in my last relationship - pages 137 and 138. It has to do with what he calls making it through the 5 stages of dating (did you know there were 5 stages?!) and what happens when one person is in a different stage than the other. Here are the stages FYI:
1. Attraction
2. Uncertainty (this is probably where I get stuck most!)
3. Exclusivity
4. Intimacy
5. Engagement

Of course, Tommy Nelson's study has a bit different view on the stages and I guess his make more sense to me. I think Mr. Gray has some good points but not from a christian standpoint.

So, all you great advice-givers out there, what do you have to say about any of this? Please feel free to post a comment. Yes, I'm asking for comments and advice! Drop me a line.

I haven't any advice but I was blog-hopping and caught up with yours and Laura's. Just wanted to say goodnight and that you are probably the most well-read single gal I know.

Wait, I have some advice. Pedicure first. Then high heels and city shorts. Look 'em up. Allison was wearing them today and she looked too cute.

Attract them with your calves and then they'll find out what a cool person you are.

Okay, it's late and I should be in bed. Forgive the silliness.
