What a Week!

It's been a long week. Work kept me hopping early in the week! And next week, I start off with a trip to LR for CPR training. I have to be prepared, you know, in case one of the Strong Women has problems!

Did I mention my dryer doesn't work?! How can I unwrinkle clothes without it (yes, I know I could IRON). Danny Isom came over yesterday and gave me the bad news - it's not worth pouring money into that old thing. He told me the same thing the last time he came - but then it was the washer! So, now I have to go dryer shopping. But since I'm headed to Mom's this week-end anyway......I'm taking some laundry with me!

eHarmony has a special going.....so I rejoined. Got a few matches so we'll see how it goes til the "special" runs out. I'm really not desperate. Yet. So even though I'm not that interested in dating right now, I'm still looking. Weird, huh?

So, drop me a line and give me advice!

Oh the FUN!

I had a houseful of company over the week-end. Laura, John, Emily, & Ethan came Friday night and Mom arrived Saturday afternoon. I had a blast (and ran my dishwasher TWICE)! Ask Laura what we did Saturday morning to make our calves sore! :-)
We basically just hung out a lot but we did go out to eat at Mi Pueblito before the basketball games. Glad the Lady Bisons won, and sorry the Men lost. It was close though. And we even made it to early service on Sunday - on time - with 7 people and 1 bathroom!

I watched an interesting movie last night. Marilyn Hotchkiss' Ballroom Dancing and Charm School. Somewhat sad, somewhat funny, somewhat scratch your head (at the ending mostly), lots of stars (including former New Kids on the Block singer Donnie Wahlberg, brother to Mark). Kind of made me want to take some dance lessons (but I guess I'll stick to the workout DVD I have already that made my calves sore!).

Have a great week.

FYI

Strong Women is a strength training class that meets twice a week for 12 weeks (and can meet more). This is a community-based program from Dr. Miriam Nelson's book series on Strong Women (Strong Women Stay Young, Strong Women Strong Bones, etc.). The reason we do the 12 weeks? For evaluation and data gathering! We like to show impact (before & after). Most groups continue meeting after that also. You can check out the website at www.strongwomen.com. We hope to get another group going soon! Watch for details.

NEW POST

Since I was ever-so-gently reminded that I had not posted in SO long, here it is.

Supper Club was a blast last night! Tish & Allison did a great job. I was so impressed when I came in - they were just hanging out on the couch (waiting for the fun to begin I'm sure!). The food was so yummy and the fellowship superb. Now I just need a nap............

Let's see - what else? I'm meeting with the women's ministry gurus - Kay & Brenda - on Friday to discuss starting a Strong Women class at church! It's just strength training (targeting older women but anyone can participate) but it's fun and relaxing, not to mention empowering. And to get to exercise with other Christians - what could be better?

I'm really excited that my fam is coming this week-end! Laura, John, Emily, Ethan, and Mom. And maybe more! I know we'll have fun being together. I miss them so.

I'm on schedule, maybe ahead, for my daily Bible reading. Joseph right now. I just finished a great book - Meeting God in Quiet Places - the Cotswold Parables by F. LaGard Smith. Not his usual book - but a very nice, thought-provoking (and travel provoking since it's all about the Cotswolds in England) book.

I guess that will do for now. Nothing exciting happening here, except that I'm getting ready for my 5:00 Strong Women class, then I'm headed to the new class that Noel is leading at church tonight. Happy Wednesday!
